Chocolate Cream Cold Brew (Starbucks inspired recipe) – Milk and popcorn

by admin

Chocolate Cream Cold Brew is a Starbucks-inspired drink, amazing for summer, with a delicious combination of chocolate, cream and coffee.

Starting this May, Starbucks announced a new drink on the menu, developed especially for the summer of 2022. This sweet cold brew drink is made with a combination of Starbucks cold brew, vanilla syrup and cream of cold chocolate foam.

Chocolate Cold Brew Cream is a Starbucks knockoff similar to the vanilla version used in the Vanilla Sweet Cream Cold Brew – very easy to make, and in this recipe, you can choose to make it with malt from chocolate powder (like the one used in the Shaken). Almond milk) or chocolate powder for those who prefer it without the malt flavor.

what does it taste like

Malted chocolate has that power to transport you back to childhood summer memories, doesn’t it? This drink is a classic combination of chocolate and coffee, and the foam brings the memory of chocolate malt milkshake. The drink is also compared to a liquid version of the malted milk ball candy, the Whopper.

Ready-to-drink drink with foam on top.

It has a malty, nutty flavor, not so sweet, and more watery than creamy, as the base is made with cold beer without milk. The chocolate is only in the cold foam, and the drink can be made without the vanilla syrup for an even less sweet version.

What are the ingredients?

Chocolate Cream Cold Brew is made with easy-to-find ingredients, so you can have your version of this Starbucks summer drink with little effort. All you need is:

Cold Brew Coffee: You can use Starbucks cold brew or make your own cold brew coffee. It is the liquid base of this recipe.

Vanilla Syrup: You can make your own vanilla syrup or use store bought.

Homemade vanilla syrup.

Cold Chocolate Mousse: Made by combining cream, milk and malted chocolate powder, the only ingredient that can be substituted here is malted chocolate. Let’s talk about it below.

What is cold foam?

Cold foam is a cold, rich and creamy mixture of milk and heavy cream. Flavors can be added to cold foam. This recipe, for example, uses malted chocolate powder to flavor it.

Can I replace the malted chocolate with regular chocolate powder?

Are you part of the team that doesn’t like malt-flavored drinks? You can still have delicious cold chocolate cream without malt.

Instead of using malted chocolate, use regular chocolate powder instead. You’ll get delicious, chocolatey, malt-free cold foam.

If all you have is chocolate sauce, it can also be used instead of chocolate powder.

I don’t like using 100% cacao for this recipe – it makes a foam that’s too bitter for me. But it works if you’re looking for a sugar-free version. If using, ddd half the amount called for in this recipe.

how to do it

I don’t have a french press, can I still make cold foam without it?

Yes, you can! Instead of the French press, use a hand whisk or a stand mixer (this will take longer, but it’s doable) to make the foam.

Can I make the cold chocolate mousse in advance?

I would not recommend making the cold foam ahead of time. By doing it right when you’re about to enjoy this drink, you’ll get a foam with just the right texture consistency.

Tips for this recipe

  • You can replace the vanilla syrup with any syrup you like. This way, you can customize your drink. I love adding this brown sugar syrup instead of using vanilla syrup.
  • Do you want it sweeter? Double the syrup if you’re looking for a sweeter version.
  • Want to make this drink creamier? Add a splash of milk to the cold coffee. Oat milk is an amazing option for this.
  • If you use a French press and double or triple the recipe, remember not to overfill. Fill only halfway, as the mixture will double in size as it foams.
