Hashima/ Hasma aka “Suet Gap/ Xue Ge Gao/雪蛤膏” is known for its nourishing properties to maintain youthful skin, strengthen the lungs and treat respiratory ailments such as coughs.
Hashima dessert soup is a delicacy in Chinese cuisine. This recipe uses ginkgo nuts, red dates and rock candy, but you can add other ingredients if you like. Dried Hashima can be bought in TCM stores. It’s easy to prepare, just soak the dried Hashima overnight, rinse and remove any impurities, then follow the steps in the recipe below.

8 red dates
Add 100 g rock candy to taste
