Salted Snickers Filled Dates are a better version of the classic candy bar. Dates are stuffed with creamy peanut butter and chopped salted peanuts, dipped in chocolate and sprinkled with fleur de sel. The dates add the caramel flavor and sweetness that pair perfectly with the chocolate and peanut butter. Makes 10 chocolate-covered dates.
When I first heard about Snickers filled dates, I was skeptical. Whenever someone says that a healthy treat tastes “just like” the unhealthier one, I immediately raise an eyebrow. For example, don’t tell me that cauliflower rice tastes like regular rice because that’s an absolute lie. I enjoy both, but you can’t fool me. So I had to try these Snickers dates myself.
So are Snickers Dates > than a Snickers Candy Bar?
Perhaps?! I mean let’s not twist it. These aren’t Snickers. BUT omg they are delicious! You get the milk chocolate and creamy peanut butter, peanuts for the texture you need, and the date is perfectly sweet, giving it that caramel-like flavor. I like to keep them in the freezer and eat them when they’re slightly thawed. Just watch your teeth as they are tough. They definitely give me Snickers vibes, and I have one every night after my workout. So good!
If you love dates (and Snickers!), you’ll love these!
To prepare these Snickers Dates you will need:
- Medjool dates – Choose soft, fresh dates with or without a pit.
- peanut butter (creamy or chunky) – Or any other nut or seed butter.
- peanuts – Dry roasted and lightly salted. Can be omitted if using chunky peanut butter.
- chocolate chips – I like to use milk chocolate, but dark chocolate would be great too!
- coconut oil – Helps set the chocolate when chilled.
- toothpick – Secures the dates and gives you a grip when dipping and drizzling with chocolate and keeps your fingers clean.
- Fleur de Sel – For a salty contrast. Or use finely chopped peanuts instead.
Cut each date open on one side and remove the pit.
Repeat with the rest of the data.
Fill each date with about 1/2 teaspoon of peanut butter or your choice of nut or seed butter.
Top with some chopped peanuts.
Then insert a toothpick.
Set aside and repeat with the remaining dates.
Next, in a bowl set over a saucepan of gently simmering water, add 1 cup milk chocolate chips plus 1 generous teaspoon coconut oil.
Stir until melted.
Remove from the heat and use a toothpick to dip the bottom of a peanut butter filled date.
Drizzle over chocolate with a spoon.
Gently but firmly pat the side of the bowl to remove excess chocolate.
Place in a small, parchment-lined, rimmed metal pan. Use another toothpick to hold the date in place while you remove the original toothpick. Repeat with the remaining Snickers stuffed dates.
Sprinkle with a pinch of flour de set or finely chopped peanuts.
Place the pan in the fridge for 30 minutes to set the chocolate.
Prepare to fall in love now!
