Our poor eyebrows have been ringing since the ’90s, haven’t they? Overly plucked eyebrows used to be the trend, now they’re big and bushy. Can you keep up?! Luckily my brows are naturally full so it’s all about the big defined brow and luckily they bounced back when Drew Barrymoore convinced me to pluck all mine.

But let’s talk about the best eyebrow products and some tips and techniques on how to use them.

The Best Brewing Products | Tips & Techniques

There are a few foolproof steps I swear by when it comes to filling in your brows:

1. Brush out your brows with a spoolie Brush. Start by brushing your eyebrows and getting them “in place”. This will show you where you may have sparse areas or where you need more definition of your arch.

2. Lightly fill in sparse brows. Start easy and build! You can always add more pigment, but start with light strokes (whether you’re using a pomade, powder, or brow pencil). A good rule of thumb is to leave the area of your brows closest to your nose lightest and accentuate/build up the arch and end of your brows with hair-like strokes. Of course, if you prefer a bold, thoroughly defined brow, you can build up the entire brow.

3. Brush through your brows again to blend them out. After adding the formula, brush through your brows again with a spoolie to blend your brow hairs and the added color. Continue brushing and adding color alternately until you achieve your desired look.

4. Finally, apply a brow gel to fix. Tired of your eyebrow hairs not staying? Use an eyebrow gel to fix them! It’s like hairspray for the eyebrows.

Let’s talk about the best eyebrow products available in pomade, pencil and gel form…

Do you have unruly eyebrows? Do you feel like your eyebrows are going in all directions? Let me introduce you to your new BFF: the Ere Perez Brow Gel. Personally, I like to fill in my brows with one of the first two products, then finish with a clear brow gel on my full makeup days. If I’m going for a super natural look, I just use the clear eye gel to make sure my brow hairs are in place. You can also use colored brow gel to lightly fill in your brows and set them in place…double whammy.
