If you need some gift ideas for the upcoming holidays, I’ve got you covered!

Thanksgiving is over here in the US and that means talking about the upcoming holiday is no longer a breach of etiquette. I thought it might be fun to kick things off with a handy dandy gift guide, which is basically a list of all my favorite things this year. None of these are sponsored, although, by all means, some of these products I got to try for free (like the vegan lip gloss!) These are all products that I’m in love with, regardless of how they ended up in my little hands, so buckle up and yours! Prepare to cross a bunch of people off the list!

My favorite cookbook.

Plant-based India by Dr. Sheel Shukla

I’ve got a huge library of cookbooks and for me, this was the awesome cookbook of 2022. Dr. Shukla not only includes delicious, healthy, plant-based recipes from his childhood, he also takes you inside a lush gastronomic landscape using his own camera.

Cooking from the Spirit by Tabitha Brown

Can’t Mrs. Tabitha Brown do anything?? #1 New York Times bestselling author feeding the soul Hit the bestseller list once more, but this time with a very good Guide to how to feed your soul. Why? Because it’s his business!

Signed copy of The Korean Vegan Cookbook!

I know most of you already have a copy of my cookbook, but if you would like to gift yourself or someone else a signed copy of The Korean Vegan Cookbook, be sure to visit Now Serving LA, where I signed my cookbook for them. Full stock. And, if you haven’t bought a copy yet—it’s a New York Times bestseller, a James Beard winner, and boasts a 5-star rating on Amazon. What are you waiting for?

My new favorite kitchen gadget.

Portable Wireless Food Processor

I honestly don’t know how or why I came across this powerful little tool, but it has drastically changed the amount of time I spend preparing vegetables in the kitchen. Moreover, anyone who often suffers from stiff and achy joints, this is portable and staying wireless Nearby food processors make cooking a relatively painless experience. I use it to make salad dressings, finely chop all my spices, or even start my pasta sauce! It is easy to use and very easy to clean.

My favorite vegan beauty products.

Korean Vegan Lip Gloss

i’m gone search A vegan lip “stain” that does more than anything hints In my lip color, a very popular look in South Korea. A Korean beauty company, Nacific, figures that this chic lip kit will be their master. And it’s vegan!!

Vegan and cruelty free lashes

I’m a fairly low maintenance gal when it comes to my “beauty routine” (I’m not really sure I have one). The point is, I hate wearing makeup and I take it off worse. Enter LASHIFY—which shows me all the makeup without any makeup. Vegan and cruelty free, buy with confidence!

My favorite new active wear!

POPFLEX Active Wear

Yes, it’s true, the founder of POPFLEX sent me a handful of items from their catalog, but I have to be honest—I didn’t think I’d like them. I’ve been wearing the same leggings, sports bra, and shorts for running for nearly a decade and I didn’t think anyone, no matter how well-intentioned, would help me try something new. Well, I was wrong.

I find POPFLEX’s hoodies, sports bras, and leggings to be not only unexpectedly comfortable (like, so soft and stretchy), but ridiculously flattering. Whoever designed these things may have tailor-made my body. A quick scan of their website shows that they are body inclusive in the most honest way, and it took me about 10 minutes to pick out a whole new outfit of activewear from their lineup.

My favorite bowls and ceramics.

factor product

One of the questions I get asked the most is “Where did you get your bowls?” Well, it’s no secret that the vast majority of my bowls, plates and ceramics are made by none other than Aaron Fisher, creator of Fabric Goods. Her work speaks for itself so don’t forget to pick up something special for your loved ones this holiday!

My favorite good reason the soul

Hera the Dog Cocktail Kit

I recently had the good fortune to meet a fellow animal lover and vegan who created a vodka company to raise money for animals. Proceeds from the sale of their cocktail kits go to animal rescue organizations, so gift your friend some fine vodka and do yourself some good deed! I actually had a chance to take a few sips of them Mules are pears And it was delicious!!

My favorite outdoor and indoor wear.

Vegan quotes for all types

All in all, I gave up on my Canada Goose a long time ago, but let me tell you- finding something that could stand up to the Chicago Blaster was not easy!! LOLOL I was cold up to I discovered this vegan, cruelty-free outerwear company, for all types. This coat has gotten me through two Chicago winters along the lakefront and I love it. I gifted my whole family coats and jackets from them last year and they were a total hit!

Bronx Cloud Slide

So, we don’t wear shoes in our house. But we wear “ssuh-leh-bbah” or “slippers”! I actually ordered these as a gift for my niece and they were too big for her, so I switched to them myself and man oh man my life changed. For someone who typically runs a hundred miles per month and spends hours on her feet for work, these slippers are an absolute godsend for me!! I bought them for all my family LOLOL They come in a ton of different colors and sizes, and you’ll definitely want to pick up a pair for yourself as well as a friend!

My favorite recipe app.

Korean Vegan Collective

So, this is a bit of a sneak peek, but we will soon be relaunching The Korean Vegan Collective (now known as The Korean Vegan Meal Planner) to be bigger and better than EVAR! In addition to continued access to all my recipes, the new Korean Vegan Collective will house an array of my writing and videos, including exclusive cooking tips, hero ingredients, vlogs, and direct access to Ask Joannes.Content you won’t find anywhere else.

I hope you enjoyed my first holiday gift guide!

The holidays are supposed to be a time of joy and bonding, but often, they can be really stressful! Instead of showing our gratitude to those we love and cherish, exchanging gifts can sometimes feel like a chore or, worse, an obligation, which can cause anxiety and even resentment. Regardless of whether any of the items in this guide apply to you, take the following parting thoughts with you:

The most generous gift you can ever give You!
