Tips for making vegan raw strawberry jam

Blender or food processor
You’ll want to add all of your ingredients in a food processor or high-speed blender. Then turn on and let it grind the mixture.
Scrape the sides
When blending, be sure to take a spatula and scrape down the sides and lift up any bits stuck to the bottom of the blender. Sometimes you’ll find that the berries splatter on the walls and don’t get mashed all the way.
Variations on raw vegan strawberry jam

fruit
So it’s made with strawberries, but you can easily swap it out for whatever fresh berries you like. Blueberries, blackberries, raspberries or any other fruit of your choice.
sweetener
So I used a liquid sweetener, but that is of course optional. If you don’t want to sweeten the jam, you don’t have any either. Or you can use maple syrup if you prefer.
Frequently asked questions about strawberry jam

How do I know my chia seeds are ready to puree?
You want your chia seeds to turn into a thick paste in the cup. As the chia seeds soak in the water, they will expand. And after an hour or so you will find that they have puffed up nicely and form a thick paste.
How to store this fresh jam?
You want to put the vegan jam in an airtight container and store it in the fridge for up to 5 days. Since there are no preservatives, it will spoil faster than a bottle of jam from the store.
Can strawberry jam be frozen?
To be honest, I have never frozen chia seeds in a jam. So I can’t say for sure if the texture will be different once it’s thawed and not frozen. I think the texture could change a bit. So if you try it, let me know in the comments.
